New Ariana Grande music is here!

On Friday, May 29, the Grammy-winning pop star released the vulnerable new single "Hate That I Made You Love Me" as the first offering from her upcoming Petal album.

The downtempo song features an understated vocal performance from Grande as she sings lyrics that seem to speak to her relationship with public perception.

"I've held your projections when you've felt so insecure / Tell me, why is it this way? / Why you so hate to see women endure? / Is it really my fault you all gave me your hearts of your own accord? / I don't really think so," sings Grande on the track's bridge.

The "Hate That I Made You Love Me" music video premieres on Monday, June 1. Grande shared a teaser of the clip to Instagram featuring actor Justin Long.

Petal is set for a Friday, July 31 release via Republic Records.

The "Thank U, Next" singer announced the album in April and explained the title in a statement, noting that Petal represents "something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging."
