Regina Hall and Anna Faris, costars of the 2000 horror spoof *Scary Movie*, modeled the kind of affectionate behavior between costars that *Wicked: For Good*'s Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo became known for. At least Hall thinks so.

"We were like the original Cynthia and Ariana, huh?" Hall said when she was shown some throwback *Entertainment Tonight* footage of the two during an interview for the outlet when the movie was released. "All the set love."

The vintage clip show the women jokingly fawning over each other, after Faris explains, "We want everyone to think that we get along." She seems to say that they'd been instructed by the studio.

In high-pitched voices, they declare their love for one another and the belief that the other is "so funny."

"She is hilarious," Hall raves. "She's great!"

Faris adds, "We love working together," as they hug and grin.

Grande and Erivo were regularly seen embracing and even holding fingers, as they pitched their movies, which turned out to be hits worldwide.

But while the second half of *Wicked* was released just last month, the last installment of the *Scary Movie* franchise was released back in 2013. Neither Hall nor Faris appeared in it.**

Hall noted that she and Faris just finished shooting *Scary Movie 6*, which is scheduled for release in June. Keenen Ivory Wayans, Marlon Wayans, and Shawn Wayans will once again oversee the film as writers and producers.

The women had said that they wanted to return to the massively successful franchise together.

"I would love to work with Regina again," Faris told PEOPLE in July 2024 when asked about rejoining the cast. "I just love her so much. We would make each other giggle all day long. Regina Hall would be my answer. And money. But mostly all Regina!"

Hall obviously has happy memories, too, and, after watching her and Faris' touchy-feely footage, reflected on the relationship between their characters.

"That just makes me think of me and Anna young and being on set," said Hall, who portrayed Brenda, a friend of Faris' protagonist Cindy. "I think Brenda and Cindy were the two most unlikely friends. Cindy certainly is a good friend. I don't know if Brenda is a great friend."

Hall attempted to describe why fans loved her character so much.**

"Maybe because Brenda's so irreverent. I mean, there's something off there, right?" she asked. "I'm really excited to do that kind of humor again. There's a very specific type of broad humor that's in *Scary Movie*. It means a lot that people want to see it 25 years later."**

*Scary Movie* *6* is scheduled to arrive in theaters June 12.
